About the Name

Villa Santina is one of the first houses in Viserba and was bought by Oliviero Stramigioli in   1942. Oliviero Stramigioli changed then the name to Villa Santina, in honour of his mother Santina (in the picture), who became lay nun, with the name “Suora Chiara” and was writing for the “Frati Francescani”.

From Villa Carlo Cesare to Villa Santina

Originally the house had two shared floors; the top floor had the sleeping part, and the ground floor had kitchen, living room and storage. There was a garden on the front and on the back and the house was pretty isolated and no high building were present around it except few other villas. Oliviero and Jolanda Stramigioli got three children: Bibi (female), Giampiero (male) and Graziano (male).  In 1969 the house was restructured to host four apartments. The ground floor land side became the summer residence for Oliviero and Jolanda, the ground floor sea side was the summer residence of  Graziano’s family, married with Serena and with a child named Simone. The top floor land side was the summer residence of Bibi’s family, married with Giorgio and having a son Vittorio and a daughter Graziana. The top floor sea side was the summer residence of Giampiero, married with Laura (called by everybody Lalla) and with two sons, Luca and Stefano. The house has been used every summer by the various Stramigioli families

After the death of Graziano, the sudden death of Simone at the age of 51 was a shock to the all family.  Serena, before her death decided to leave the ownership of the ground floor sea side to the only two Stramigioli left, Stefano and Luca. After the death of Lalla, mother of Stefano and Luca, Stefano decided to acquire Luca’s part to then become the owner of  the whole sea side of the villa. Stefano would have loved to acquire also the ownership of the land side of the house, but that was not financially possible. The land side of the house is currently  owned by Graziana Gnutti, daughter of Bibi and managed by her son, Federico Cauro. Stefano Stramigioli, married with Fiona and father of Emily and Robin, is very happy to still own two apartments which will eventually  go  to their children, hoping that the ownership will never leave the Stramigioli heritage. Stefano, Fiona, Emily and Robin welcome you in their properties, hoping you will have a wonderful time in a house which is deeply loved by their owners and is full of memories.
